Early Morning Respite

My back porch is a haven in the early morning. Until it gets too hot to enjoy, I try to take my coffee etc. and some reading out there to start my day.

The azaleas are late this year. See how quiet our little lake is?

Quiet, wonderful shadows from the still rising sun. I just love the wildness of this right in the middle of the city.

Sunset on the Ice of Briar Creek

Sunday night means supper at Mimi's (that's me). I was laid up a bit with some silly something in my back so I asked SIL, Chuck, if he could get some shots of the ice on our little lake. We are having record cold here in Dallas and I wanted to document what was happening to our little lake. Here's what he brought back. I think there's an artist in there somewhere. What do you think?

My favorite place in Texas

Right now, at this moment in my life, my very favorite place in Texas is my own backyard right here on this little lake right in the heart of East Dallas. Peaceful, inhabited by waterfowl, all kinds of other birds and full of wonderful shades of green and the lovely sound of silence. The fishing is good if you care to bait a hook. Hot dogs as bait will land you a granpa catfish. I have decided I am a true Taurean. I love "Home". I love being home, spending time with my "things", doing my "thing", creating, my "things". Nothing better than being HOME.
